Investigation of One-pot Synthesized Photoluminescent Carbon Quantum Dots

A one-pot approach for the fabrication of fluorescent Carbon Quantum Dots (CQDs) has been developed using Oil-Bath method of glucose and diethylenetriamine (DETA). The transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Ultraviolet-visible absorption (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, photoluminescence(PL) and time-correlated PL (TRPL) spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy were performed to study the optical properties and morphology of the as-synthesized luminescent CQDs. This facile synthesis method of CQDs suggests numerous applications in nanotechnology.
