Improving Discrimination Between Vector-Boson Fusion Production of Higgs Boson and Gluon-Gluon Fusion Production in the Vector-Boson Fusion Phase Space for Higgs Coupling Analysis

For precision measurement of Higgs coupling at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), we focus on differentiating between vector-boson fusion production (VBF) of Higgs boson and gluon-gluon fusion (ggF) in the VBF phase space. We've analyzed several variables defined by the jet substructure and found substantial difference in girth and integrated jet shape between VBF and ggF. Our result suggests that these two novel variables can significantly reduce the contamination of ggF in the VBF phase space with multivariate analysis.
