A Brief Tour of Recent Progress in Device-Independent Quantum Information

The reliable preparation and characterization of quantum resources (such as specific entangled states) is an indispensable part in any quantum information processing tasks. Likewise, the proper implementation of measurements with desired features is crucial in many quantum information tasks. In this talk, I will describe some recent progress on the possibility to certify certain desired properties of a quantum resource and/or quantum device in a device-independent manner, i.e., directly from the observed measurement statistics without relying on any assumption on the systems observed or of the measurements performed.
